Show Notes

A Course In Miracles (Opening) – Maria discusses her role as a teacher of A Course in Miracles (ACIM). She shares the history of the book and how its teachings have impacted her life.

“What I love about ACIM is that you have the opportunity to choose your experience. You have all these problems, but you have the tools that allow you to see and experience them through joy or through pain.” – Maria Felipe

Live Your Happy (12:05) – We learn about Live Your Happy, Maria’s book and course which takes a simplified approach towards A Course in Miracles.

“Live Your Happy is about forgiving and taking responsibility, even if you don’t want to, and being clear and disciplined with your mind. It’s calling you to be very present in your life and be responsible, as well as maintain your spiritual practice, whatever that is, every single day.” – Maria Felipe

Feeling Your Feelings (18:55) A big part of Live Your Happy and ACIM is being present with your feelings. Chris and Maria discuss the tendency to avoid or bypass our feelings. Maria discusses the tools that enable us to be present for those feelings as they arise.

“Sometimes in spirituality, you don’t realize it but you have brushed things under the rug. You are just covering it up and ultimately you are not going to feel good.”  – Maria Felipe

Rethinking Forgiveness (28:35) – Maria talks about the important role that forgiveness plays in ACIM. She and Chris talk about the unique perspective on forgiveness that the course takes.

“The course says that forgiveness is remembering that the love that you give and the love that you receive is the only thing that is real; all else is an illusion. Basically, it is saying that forgiveness is recognizing that anything you think happened in the past is not real.”

Practices for Living Your Happy (45:25) – In Live Your Happy Maria gives a number of the tools and practices that she implements in her daily life. She shares with us a practice which aims to settle the mind’s limitless chatter.
