Mindrolling – Raghu Markus – Ep. 152 – Talking Transitions with Frank Ostaseski

Frank Ostaseski

Raghu is joined by Frank Osteseski, a Buddhist teacher and guiding light for people who are facing the death and dying process.

“I think that the sacred isn’t something separate or different than the rest of or lives, but rather hidden in our lives. Right in the midst of the ordinariness of our life and the dying is a time when we uncover the sacred. When the sacred gets revealed to us. It happens at other times in our life but especially there, when the veil is thin.”

Raghu talks about his recent experience with the transition of his close friend Jyoti and it how it was like being at the very precipice of awakening when he sat with her as she was slipping through the Bardos.

Frank describes being with someone who is dying as an opportunity to let go of our of all preconceived notions and to use the transparency and rawness of that experience to bring ourselves into the moment.

Frank encourages everyone not to wait to tell our near and dear that we love them, and practicing for the eventual transition is something to consider sooner than later.
