Come celebrate an evening where the worlds of comedy and spirit collide. Join host, comedian, Duncan Trussell and Raghu Markus, along with featured guests Sharon Salzberg, Ethan Nichtern, and more for a live-streamed podcast as they explore what’s so funny about peace, love, and understanding. Nina Rao, kirtan/chant musician, will open the event with an invocation.

Duncan Trussell is an American actor and stand-up comic, known for his podcast The Duncan Trussell Family Hour and his appearances on The Joe Rogan Experience podcast.

Sharon Salzberg has played a crucial role in bringing meditation and mindfulness practices to the West and into mainstream culture since 1974 when she first started teaching. She is the co-founder of the Insight Meditation Society in Barre, MA and the author of ten books including NY Times bestseller, Real Happiness, her seminal work, Lovingkindness and Real Love. Sharon is a regular columnist for On Being, a contributor to Huffington Post, and the host of her own podcast: The Metta Hour.

Ethan Nichtern is a senior teacher in the Shambhala Buddhist tradition and the author of four books including The Dharma of “The Princess Bride” & The Road Home. For the past 15 years, Ethan has taught meditation and Buddhist psychology classes and workshops around New York City and North America and Europe. He primarily studies in the Shambhala tradition under Sakyong Mipham Rinpoche, but has also studied Theravadan and Soto Zen Buddhism.

Raghu Markus is the host of the Mindrolling podcast on the Be Here Now Network.

Nina Rao regularly leads kirtan, chanting of the Hanuman Chalisa, and sings for yoga classes in her hometown of Brooklyn, NY and beyond. In January 2013, she released her debut album, “Antarayaami – Knower of All Hearts”and is currently recording her second album due to be released spring 2018.
