In this episode of Living with Reality, Dr. Robert Svoboda focuses on Rahu, a shadow planet that causes eclipses, and how we are experiencing Kalasarpa yoga at the beginning of 2021.
The Shadow Planets
Dr. Svoboda introduces the shadow planets Rahu and Ketu, which are the nodes of the moon and the forces that cause eclipses. He talks about the strong influences eclipses can have on the human psyche, and covers the cosmic mythology of Rahu, an anti-god who got his head cut off for stealing a drop of the nectar of immortality.
“As life has become more modern, as it has become more cerebral, as it has become more head-oriented in general, the influence of Rahu, in particular, has become greater.” – Dr. Robert Svoboda
The Influence of Rahu (12:40)
Dr. Svoboda explores the various ways in which people are influenced by Rahu, and how we see the strength of Rahu reflected in our modern society. These influences are even more magnified when Rahu and Ketu are prominent in the sky, which is the case right now at the beginning of 2021.
“People who are influenced strongly by Rahu are very concerned with their appearance, and always want to look youthful. Including, not only getting injections of various elixirs, but also getting plastic surgery… It’s that drive to try to always remain attractive and youthful that is a strong indicator of the influence of Rahu.” – Dr. Robert Svoboda
Ram Dass, Trungpa Rinpoche, and others explore the notion of ego on Here and Now Ep. 112
Kalasarpa Yoga (19:42)
Dr. Svoboda sheds light on Kalasarpa yoga, which is a period when all of the visible planets wind up between the two shadow planets. He talks about how these periods of Kalasarpa yoga affect everyone and everything. Since we will be experiencing Kalasarpa yoga for the first few months of 2021, now is a good time to focus on reality.
“This will be a great time to meditate on your own delusions, to watch what your mind does. To see how you allow yourself to be manipulated, how you manipulate yourself, and possibly, how you attempt to manipulate others.” – Dr. Robert Svoboda
