Power of Love (Opening) – Even in the difficult times we find ourselves in, love always has the power to bring us together and lift us up. Chris and Scott talk about the natural undercurrent of love that runs through all things and choosing to make a practice out of embracing that love.
“What I have come to find in my life that has served me more than anything is just to recognize that, for me, love is the most powerful choice I can make. I see love as the base note for all that is good in our world. Things like kindness, compassion, forgiveness, and authenticity all stem from love. When I speak about big love and making that choice, it’s really about considering my life and recognizing that I am always going to fall off the love train. I am going to do all these things that are outside the energy of love, but I am really committed to being as loving as possible. So I know I am going to bring myself back to the energy of love.”

Loss and Forgiveness (14:50) – At the age of 14, Scott lost both of his parents to violence. He shares this experience and the story of how he learned to open his heart to love and forgive their killer.
“I feel like my depth of compassion and empathy for people’s pain is so far beyond what it ever could have been if I had not gone through what I did. I can’t tell you how much I appreciate that, because I know that one of the greatest gifts I have to offer to people is my compassion and willingness to rest in my own experience to be able to connect with others.”
Getting Free (28:25) – Scott shares his journey of searching for spiritual practice and community. He talks about falling into a cult, finding his way out of it, and what the experience taught him about life.
Working with Fear (39:15) – In his newest book, Big Love: The Power of Living with a Wide-Open Heart, Scott writes about struggling with and overcoming fear. He and Chris talk about what we can do to work with fear and become more fearless.
