Krishna Das with Sharon Salzberg: Real Love and The Power of the Loving Heart @ New York Quarterly Meeting House
Aug 26 @ 7:00 pm – 10:00 pm
Krishna Das with Sharon Salzberg: Real Love and The Power of the Loving Heart @ New York Quarterly Meeting House | New York | New York | United States

Join Sharon Salzberg and Krishna Das, longtime friends and colleagues, for a workshop exploring the Real Love: The Power Of The Loving Heart. Fundamentally, there is only one kind of love  –  real love – trying to come more fully alive in us despite our limiting assumptions, the distortions of our culture, our sense of unworthiness, and the habits of fear, self-condemnation and isolation we tend to acquire. KD and Sharon offer a lifetime of experience nurturing a greater capacity for real love rooted in the Buddhist and Bhakti traditions. They will guide participants to see through layers of habit to find a truer meaning of love for themselves, for their loved ones, for those they don’t know but with whom they share this planet – for all beings everywhere. This unique event includes teaching, discussion, periods of meditation and chanting practice, as well as time for question and answer. Suitable for new or experienced practitioners.

Doors open at 6:30pm

Tickets in advance are $55 + ticketing fee ($58.75 per ticket)

Tickets at the door (if available) are $65 cash only

Adam Taylor and the three co-founders of the Holistic Life Foundation in a contemplative yet active retreat for all concerned by growing divisions yet trusting that all things have potential to change for the good. Learn how to hold the tensions and stay committed to the conversation in the democratic process as well as in our families, communities and world.

REGISTER HEREIn the spirit of Wisdom Sharing, this retreat–for all ages, gender, races, faiths and political affiliations–focuses on the undeniable importance of building bridges across our differences. Its healing approach is designed to refresh our vision for what we as citizens of the United States might generate through respectful dialogues, deeper listening and creative problem solving. Here in the sacred space of its high-desert refuge, Ghost Ranch Education & Retreat Center promises a new kind of civic education that encourages citizens to acknowledge the complexities and even brokenness in our cherished system and yet remain fully engaged.

This transformative event is for those who value the right to vote, to speak out and to stand up for others, especially the marginalized and those often not heard. It is for all who seek an alternative to whatever makes us fearful, angry and divided. “We the People” will explore how our greatest strengths arise from our diversity, willingness to compromise, capacity to love, and respect for all.

This restorative gathering is for those who recognize that full engagement requires dedicated and intentional time to nourish our souls as we gain new skills and perspective. The wide open vistas and warm hospitality of Ghost Ranch offer such a sanctuary where we will create an alternative oasis of calm, thoughtfulness, compassion and laughter around the 2016 election.

The experiential sessions include dynamic morning plenary sessions, workshops, dialogue circles, spiritual practices, yoga, hiking, private reflection and contemplative meditation/prayer.
